Angling Hero: My Husband – Ricky Campbell – R.D. has taught me so much about fishing and about myself. He encourages me every step of the way and gives me the confidence to go out each and every tournament and do my best.
Most Memorable Fishing Experience: In 2006, my first ever tournament as a boater, I came in 3rd place at Lake Lewisville and we were able to weigh in at the Will Rogers Coliseum in Ft. Worth, and were driven into the coliseum in our boats. My entire family was there, my husband, my mom, my 2 sisters, my brother-in-laws, my sister-in-laws, my nieces, my nephews but the first person I saw when I got onstage was my grandmother. She was 88 years old back then and she waved at me and I almost lost it. She had never seen anything like that and I am so glad that I got to share that with her…with all of them. They are my foundation.

Non-Angling Hero: My dad…he has passed away, but there is not a day or tournament that goes by that I don’t think about him. He was an avid fisherman and I was the tomboy of the 3 girls. I was fishing from the time I can remember, sitting on the bank catching perch while he was out bass fishing in the boat. When I was older I got to go bass fishing with him. I wish he was here to see me competing in the WBT. Thank you Dad for the love of fishing.
When Not Fishing: Wishing I were fishing…I work full time and try to spend as much time on the water as possible. I love to deer hunt and scuba dive.
Why I Fish: I love sports and the competition that goes along with that. I used to play softball 4 days a week and loved being on a team and the competition. Fishing is now my passion and the friendships made and the competition is what I look forward to every time I get into the boat.
